110-710

This wasn’t on our list of overpasses to visit… but it really can't be ignored. This overpass had a lot a dead ivy on it. It’s unfortunate that the ivy doesn’t survive better than it does on these structures; it is choked by the exhaust of our daily commutes, I imagine. This reminds me, about 6 years ago I wrote a poem about ivy and overpasses. I’m gong to try and find it.

On the way back to Riverside we stopped at a friend’s pizza place in Arcadia. The place is called Franko’s and it’s owned by a man named Erik. Both Erik and I majored in philosophy at UC Berkeley. As I said, Erik now owns a pizzeria whereas I made the fortunate/unfortunate decision to continue with the old philosophy program. Jaime is an undergraduate who is also majoring in, you guessed it, philosophy. Anyway, if you like good pizza and good conversation head on over to Erik’s place on Baldwin. The artichoke pizza with fresh mushrooms is our favorite!

From here we are headed, in traffic (ugh!), to, in my opinion, one of the most amazing interchanges in the LA area, the 10-57.
